Bioterrorism Report - The Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) released Preparing for and Responding to Bioterrorism as the third in a series of reports on Protecting Your Community from Terrorism: Strategies for Local Law Enforcement.

This paper is the result of an executive session sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) that brought together local, state and federal law enforcement leaders; public health professionals; fire officials; and other subject matter experts.

The report is available as a free download from the PERF website at www.policeforum.org or COPS at www.cops.usdoj.gov. Previous papers in the series on local-federal partnerships and working with diverse communities also can be found on those websites. (Upcoming papers will focus on information sharing and intelligence, as well as how local, state and tribal law enforcement can better work with the Department of Homeland Security.)
