COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course gives the participant a view of Arabic Names, Arabic Culture and in particular into Muslim beliefs, community structure and traditions.  This education can be used for the following:

  • How to distinguish legitimate Arabic Names from nicknames, titles and other name altering schemes.
  • How to identify associations and family relationships associated with Arabic Names.
  • A detailed understanding of the ideology of Islamist Militant groups/individuals in order to identify threatening elements.
  • A detailed understanding of the Arabic culture to assist officers to develop intelligence assets within Arabic communities and to assist with investigations related to money laundering, criminal activities and hate crimes.
  • Participants will learn tips to distinguish law abiding Muslim citizens from fanatical observers who may be potential terrorist or terrorist sympathizers in traffic stops, interviews and casual conversation.
  • Common recruiting rounds and methods for fanatical Muslim groups
  • How to identify ideological patterns and beliefs common to Islamist extremists
  • Questioning techniques for Arabic subjects.
  • Understanding Arabic culture and developing relationships with Arabic/Muslim/Middle Eastern Communities.
  • Developing intelligence assets within Arabic/Muslim/Middle Eastern communities.
