Chief Deputy Bill Cameron - Charlotte County Sheriff's Office

 
     
    Bill is the Chief Deputy of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and prior to that, he was appointed as the interim Sheriff of CCSO. He began his law enforcement career as a member of the Fort Myers Police Department for five years where he was a patrol officer, narcotics and vice officer, and field training officer. In January 1987, he joined the Lee County Sheriff’s Office where he held many positions including patrol officer, general crimes detective, missing person detective, juvenile unit detective, major crimes detective, school resource unit coordinator, marine officer, narcotics agent, patrol supervisor, internal affairs investigator, training supervisor, and community outreach commander.

Chief Deputy Cameron has been a full time instructor with the Southwest Florida Criminal Justice Academy in Fort Myers. He has instructed in the areas of Criminal Investigations and Tactical Police Driving. Bill is also an instructor for the Regional Community Policing Institute at St. Petersburg College.
