Donald Gibson - Assistant State Attorney, Sixth Judicial Circuit

 
     
   

Don Gibson has been employed as an Assistant State Attorney in the Sixth Judicial Circuit since 1990 and has worked in the Juvenile Division, Appeals, Misdemeanor and Felony Divisions before volunteering in July 1995 to become the Lead Trial Attorney for the newly created Domestic Violence Unit. He has chosen to remain in the unit due to his personal commitment to reducing Domestic Violence in Pinellas County homes. He has been an active participant in the Pinellas County Domestic Violence Task Force since 1993 and served as the Vice-Chair between May 20, 1997 and May 18, 1999. On May 11, 1999, Mr. Gibson was the proud recipient of the 1999 Governor's Peace at Home Award. Throughout his tenure in the Domestic Violence Unit, Mr. Gibson has provided continuous in-service training in Domestic Violence, legal updates and investigative procedures for all law enforcement agencies in Pinellas and Pasco Counties, as well as, other community agencies interested in reducing Domestic Violence.
