Tom Lange, Executive Director - Pinellas Police Standards Council

 
     
   

Tom Lange is employed as Executive Director of the Pinellas Police Standards Council, which operates the Police Applicant Screening Service (PASS). He retired in July 1995 after 27 years with the St. Pete Beach Police Department, including five years as Chief of Police.

His memberships include: the Florida Police Chiefs Association since 1984, where he served on the Board of Directors and chaired the state training and education committee; former chairman of the advisory board for the Pinellas Police Academy and the law enforcement programs at St. Petersburg College; past president of the Suncoast Tiger Bay Club. In addition, Lange was a contributor to ICAP Police Chief, FPCA Magazine, Law & Order, and the St. Petersburg Times. He is the founder and current chairman of the Florida Selection Center Directors Association.

Lange is a graduate of St. Petersburg College and Saint Leo College, with degrees in Police Administration and Criminal Justice. He is an executive fellow at the University of South Florida and a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
