| Daniel Masterson is a retired member of the New York City Police Department. He served 21 years with the department, 18 of those years was with the Emergency Service Unit (SWAT/Tactical Rescue). He is certified as a New York State Hazardous Materials Technician/Specialist. He is also a certified instructor in both Hazardous Materials and Weapons of Mass Destruction.
He has operational response experience to several major terrorist incidents in New York including both bombings of the World Trade Center. He was also detailed to the Police Commissioner’s Bio-Terrorist Task Force following the anthrax attack of October 2001. Since retiring from the Police Department, he has served as an instructional consultant for Emergency First Responders to terrorist incidents involving weapons of mass destruction. He has taught both domestically and internationally for different agencies. He has also served as the Emergency First Responder liaison to the New York City Public Health laboratories and training coordinator. |
