Officer Chip Wells - St. Petersburg Police Department

 
     
   

Biography

Officer Chip Wells has been a member of the St. Petersburg Police Department for 23 years and was the recipient of the 2002 Officer of the Year Award and was chosen the State of Florida’s Crime Prevention Officer of the Year in 2004.  He is currently assigned to the crime prevention unit and also functions as the department’s back-up public information officer. He is the webmaster for the St. Petersburg Police Department and is the owner of his own web design business, Wizards Web Design. (www.wizardswebdesign.com)
 
He is the president of the Suncoast Crime Prevention Association and secretary of the Florida Crime Prevention Association.  He holds a certification as an International Crime Prevention Practitioner, a Florida Crime Prevention Practitioner, and a CPTED practitioner. 

He is an instructor for the Florida Regional Community Policing Institute (RCPI) at St. Petersburg College, a past instructor for the Florida Attorney General’s Crime Prevention Training Institute (FCPTI) and designed the crime prevention and risk analysis courses for St. Petersburg College’s Corporate Security Management program.

He holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Florida.
